Requiem aeternam

For a long time, purgatory was a doctrine I didn’t really understand. I still don’t claim to be an expert on it, but thanks to Pope Benedict XVI I think I understand it far better than I ever have before. I was reminded of his teaching on the matter from an article published by Aleteia highlighting a section from Spe Salvi (Saved in Hope), his encyclical on the virtue of hope. The link is below.
